Learn how to navigate and use your CosmosCost dashboard to monitor cloud spending.

Your Command Center

The dashboard provides a unified view of your cloud costs across AWS, GCP, and Azure. Monitor spending trends, identify cost drivers, and get AI-powered insights all in one place.

Dashboard Sections

Quick Metrics

At-a-glance view of your most important cost metrics including total spend, month-over-month changes, and projected costs.

Cost Trends

Interactive charts showing your spending patterns over time. Visualize daily, weekly, or monthly trends.

Cost Breakdown

See how costs are distributed across cloud providers, services, and resources. Identify your biggest cost drivers.

Recent Activity

Track recent cost changes, data syncs, and notable spending events across your cloud accounts.

Using the Time Filter

The time range selector at the top of the dashboard allows you to analyze costs for different periods:

  • Last 7 days - Recent spending snapshot
  • Last 30 days - Monthly view (default)
  • Last 90 days - Quarterly analysis
  • Custom month - Select a specific month for detailed review

Filtering by Cloud Account

Use the cloud account filter to focus on specific providers or accounts. This is useful when:

  • Comparing costs between AWS, GCP, and Azure
  • Analyzing spending for a specific project or team
  • Troubleshooting unexpected charges on a particular account

Understanding Cost Cards

Each cost card in the dashboard is interactive. Click on any card to open a detailed view with:

  • Granular cost breakdown by service or resource
  • Historical comparison with previous periods
  • Trend analysis and projections

AI Cost Insights

Enable AI suggestions in Settings to get intelligent cost optimization recommendations powered by on-device AI. Your data never leaves your browser.

Terminology Toggle

CosmosCost normalizes service names across cloud providers. Use the terminology toggle to switch between:

  • Unified - Standardized names (e.g., "Compute", "Storage", "Database")
  • Native - Provider-specific names (e.g., "EC2", "Compute Engine", "Azure VMs")

  • Overview- Main dashboard (this page)
  • Analytics- Detailed cost analysis
  • Reports- Generate cost reports
  • Accounts- Manage cloud connections
  • Team- Invite and manage users
